What Kinds of Cases are Heard in Small Claims Court?
    In Illinois, the Small Claims Court can only be used for claims under $10,000. You can use the Small Claims Court:

  • If you buy something that doesn't work and the store refuses to return your money
  • If your landlord refuses to return your security deposit even though you left the apartment clean and undamaged
  • If your employer refuses to pay you the wages he owes you
  • If someone damages your property and refuses to pay you for the damage
  • If you believe for any other reason that someone has harmed you or owes you not more than $10,000.00 and that person refuses to pay To Contact:
